But this deceptively friendly- looking dinosaur has an unnerving way of moving, not just its eyes, but its entire head to match your gaze. In reality, the cardboard cut- out of the Tyrannosaurus Rex is completely stationary. So how is this possible? Scroll down for videos..

Using a famous dragon illusion inspired by magician Jerry Andrus, Brusspup strategically created a T- rex design that seems to move when you move. Our brain 'knows' that a face is convex, not concave, so that is the way we see what we think are faces. The dragon's head is concave. This tricks the brain, along with a number of different cues designed to change your perception. For instance, the eye to your.

Because your brain wants to see a face. In this illusion the visual system is receiving a variety of different cues to depth of objects, and prioritises them in ways that it believes make sense - but which may not always be accurate. The secret behind the illusion is the way your brain sees convex and concave shapes, alongside its ability to pick a face out of patterns. Your brain wants to interpret the dragon as a face, which is convex when someone is facing you directly. But the sides of the dragon's head curve toward you from the centre, making it concave.

This tricks the brain, along with a number of different cues, which are designed to change your perception. For instance the eye to your right is below the left one in the cut- out, and actually farther away from you.

Because your brain wants to see a face, it believes if it pops out it must be facing slightly to the left. Therefore your brain thinks the eye on the right has to be closer to you.

A similar trick occurs with the nostrils, teeth and the shape of the snout which are all inverted. The video has already gone viral, achieving nearly 3. You. Tube views in the days after it was posted.

Earlier this month, Brusspup created an illusion that showed a series of images are moving. But the hypnotic dancing shapes were in fact still images that had a transparent sheet moving over them. They appeared to be animated because the sheet has black parallel lines printed across it that change the appearance of the image as it moves across. Brusspup said he created the illusion after he saw similar ones in a book he was reading several years ago.‘I was so fascinated by them that I set out to create my own,’ he said. And while the best magicians will never share the secrets, Brusspop is more than happy to reveal his tricks.

He told Mail. Online that each animation was made up of six frames. Watch Big Brother Season 18 Episode 6. The black bars on the transparent sheet were used to 'cut' out parts of the six frames. If you look at the black bars on the transparency, you can see a little space between each black bar.

That space is what allows the 'slices' of the animation to show through as the black bar transparency passes by. Each one of the black bars is equal in size to five of the clear spaces. So if you take one black bar and one clear space next to that black bar, it equals a total of size spaces.'So when one slice of the animation is seen through the clear space, the black bar is hiding the other five frames of the animation,' explained Brusspup.'As you move, it continues to reveal the next single frame of animation through the clear space while hiding the other five.'VIDEO: Brusspup's animated optical illusions.
